NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic is recalling about 11,480 electric toaster ovens sold in the U.S. and 2,184 in Canada after regulators said a power cord insulation problem could create a shock or fire hazard.

The recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 toaster ovens, stainless steel units with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic name on the front, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The agency said the ovens were sold online at Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other platforms nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170.

The CPSC said it has received four consumer reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported.

In a Costco member letter, Panasonic Corporation of North America said Costco records showed some members bought Item #2024930, the Panasonic Model NB-G200 Electric Toaster Oven, between February 2026 and April 2026. The company told customers to stop using the product immediately.

Panasonic said affected customers can return the oven directly to the company for a refund or take it to a Costco warehouse customer service window for a full refund.
